Description
A British-made Wharfedale Linton integrated stereo amplifier manufactured by Rank Wharfedale Ltd. of Bradford. The unit is housed in a wooden cabinet with a teak-style veneer and features a brushed aluminium front faceplate with a black decorative strip. The front control panel includes four rotary knobs for volume (incorporating an integrated power off switch), balance, bass, and treble. A bank of six rectangular push-buttons provides controls for tuner, disc, tape replay, tape monitor, filter, and stereo mono selection. The rear panel is equipped with RCA phono inputs for disc, tuner 1, and tape, including toggle switches for adjustable gain and sensitivity for magnetic or ceramic pickups. Speaker connections are provided via two pairs of 2-pin DIN sockets. The rear of the chassis includes a voltage selector currently set to 240V, an unswitched AC outlet, and external fuse holders for mains and DC protection. Identification marks on the rear label specify Rank Wharfedale Ltd, Idle Bradford, a member of the Rank Organisation.
