Description
A collection comprising approximately eight vintage photographic prints and/or postcards, predominantly featuring various British steam locomotives from the London, Midland and Scottish (LMS) Railway. Subjects include “LMS Express Passenger Locomotives” and a “LMS Mixed Traffic Locomotive, ” with specific examples bearing numbers such as 4931, 4752 “THE GREEN HOWARD, ” 6235 “CITY OF HEREFORD, ” and 5552, along with a green locomotive named “Mirvale.” Several prints note their design by “Sir WILLIAM STANIER, F.R.S.” and specific build or conversion years such as 1946 and 1944. One older black and white photograph also bears a handwritten inscription that reads “A Queensland… Engine.” The items are protected within clear plastic sleeves.
