November Toys & Vintage Auction
Lot 642:
Description
An assortment of four fashion and costume necklaces in various styles, including Victorian revival, modernist, and minimalist designs.
The collection includes:
A yellow metal pendant featuring a large oval lapis lazuli cabochon. The deep blue stone contains visible gold-coloured pyrite inclusions and is secured in a decorative gallery setting with a scalloped edge. It is suspended from a fine curb chain. A small metal tag is attached near the clasp, but no characters or hallmarks are legible.
A large silver-tone metal pendant designed in an ornate Victorian revival style. The central oval panel is filled with a mosaic of purple amethyst chips set in clear resin, surrounded by a wide openwork border. The pendant hangs from a silver-tone cable link chain.
A modernist silver-tone metal pendant of marquise form. The centre features an inlay of iridescent abalone shell displaying a spectrum of green, blue, and yellow hues. The piece is suspended from a fine curb chain.
A minimalist pendant comprising a rough-cut, mottled light blue stone of triangular form, possibly dyed quartz. The stone is capped with a simple silver-tone metal bail and is presented on a very fine curb chain.
All necklaces are fitted with small spring ring clasps. There are no readable maker’s marks or metal fineness hallmarks present on any of the pieces.
