Description
A suite of Louis XV-Style dining furniture, comprising a square-top pedestal table and a collection of high-back dining chairs. The table is crafted from a reddish-brown polished hardwood, featuring a central pedestal base and four splayed feet. The accompanying chairs are made from a similarly polished hardwood, showcasing elegant cabriole legs terminating in pad feet, ornate carved aprons beneath the seats, and X-form stretchers with decorative central medallions. The chairs feature two distinct upholstery patterns: some are fully upholstered in a solid olive-green velvet-like fabric, while others present a vibrant brocade patterned with intricate paisley and floral motifs in shades of red, pink, gold, and purple. All upholstered elements are secured with metal nailhead trim.
Condition report:
The table exhibits visible wear and chipping along the tabletop edges and base. The accompanying chairs display wear consistent with age and use, including minor scuffs to the wooden frames and general surface wear. The upholstery appears generally sound, with some minor surface wear commensurate with age.
