Description
A framed watercolor or gouache illustration on paper, depicting a spherical, red engine-turned enamel bell-push with gold banding and foliate decoration, topped by a light blue cabochon, resting on a green rectangular base with a border of red and white jewels. Inscribed below the image: “Fabergé. A bell-push made with red engine-turned enamel with gold banding & foliate decoration. Brought to Luton Hoo by Lady Zia, member of the Russian Imperial Family and wife of Sir Harold Wernher.” The artwork is housed in a simple gold-colored wooden frame. An auction sticker “RVVAuction LOT 60” is affixed to the bottom left of the frame.
Condition report:
The illustration appears to be in good overall condition, with vibrant colors and no visible tears or significant foxing. The paper shows minor age-related toning consistent with its likely age. The frame is structurally sound with minor surface wear.
