Description
A framed print or drawing depicting ‘Romana,’ a gentleman’s cigar case. The depicted case features a fluted surface adorned with multiple raised ciphers and crowns, and a decorative chain with a hook extends from one side. The ciphers and crowns are associated with the Russian lineage of Grand Duke Michael. The case was brought to Luton Hoo by Lady Zia, a member of the Russian Imperial Family and wife of Sir Harold Wernher. The print or drawing is presented in a gilt wood frame with a white mat.
Condition report:
The print or drawing appears to be in good condition, well-preserved under glass. The gilt wood frame shows minor surface wear consistent with age. The mat appears clean. A \'PrecAuction LOT 59\' sticker is affixed to the lower left corner of the frame.
