Description
This lot features one Newfoundland 1941 Five Cents coin, depicting King George VI. The obverse features the denomination „5 CENTS“ above the date „1941“ within an ornate scroll, encircled by the legend „NEWFOUNDLAND“ along the upper rim, all within a beaded border. The reverse presents a left-facing, crowned bust of King George VI, encircled by the Latin inscription „GEORGIVS VI DEI GRA REX ET IND IMP, “ which translates to „George VI, by the Grace of God, King and Emperor of India.“ The coin has a reeded rim. Based on similar issues of the period, this coin is composed of 80% silver. No mint marks, signatures, or serial numbers are visible.
