Description
A pair of Wedgwood Neoclassical wall sconces, each fitted with two lights. Each sconce features an elaborate silver-toned metal frame, executed in a classical revival style. The central and lower elements are inset with oval ceramic plaques, rendered in white bas-relief figures against a pale blue ground, in the style of Wedgwood Jasperware. The upper plaque depicts a seated figure with a putto, while the lower shows a standing classical figure. Currently fitted with modern Philips LED candle-style bulbs bearing ‚CE‘ and ‚EAC‘ markings.
