Description
A large French Louis XVI style giltwood wall mirror, rectangular in form, featuring an ornate, heavily carved frame. The cresting is highly elaborate, centered with a prominent foliate cluster and flanked by intricate scrolling elements, with a draped garland swag spanning the upper frame. The frame’s side and bottom rails are adorned with classical-style carving, including acanthus-like motifs and a beaded inner border. The frame exhibits a rich, aged gold finish, indicative of gilding over wood.
