Lot 1499:
Description
This lot comprises three decorative prints, each presented in an ornate gold-tone wooden frame with a white mat. One print depicts a highly elaborate Rococo or Louis XV style mantel clock, rendered in what appears to be gilt bronze, featuring Roman numerals on its dial and surmounted by a sculptural figure. Visible text below this image identifies it as a „Prunktischuhr“ (splendid table clock) from 1745, crafted in chiseled bronze by G. A. Huet after Nicolas Pineau, and from the collection of Prince Philipp of Hesse. The second print illustrates an equally ornate gilt bronze candelabrum, showcasing a classical figure supporting a multi-branched light fixture atop a dark pedestal base. Its accompanying text describes it as an „18th-century bronze figure“ („Bronze-Figur des 18. Jahrhunderts“), possibly by Pierre-Philippe Thomire or a pupil, and located at Berlin’s Charlottenburg Palace. Both prints offer detailed reproductions of significant 18th-century European decorative arts. The third print is not pictured.
