Description
An 18th Century Georgian burl walnut tall chest of drawers, or tallboy, constructed of dark-toned wood. The piece features six graduated drawers with prominent burl wood veneer fronts. Each drawer is fitted with a brass rococo-style keyhole escutcheon and corresponding bail pull hardware. The chest stands on turned wooden feet and is surmounted by a lighter-toned, solid wood plank top. No visible text or markings are discernible.
Condition report:
The piece presents in good antique condition, exhibiting a consistent aged patina and wear commensurate with its apparent age. Minor surface abrasions and shallow indentations are present, consistent with historical use. The hardware appears original with expected tarnishing. The overall structure is sound.
