Description
This ornate decorative object is a footed bowl or jardiniere, comprising a tapering porcelain vessel set into a tripartite cast metal base. The ceramic exterior is adorned with a detailed, polychrome painting depicting exotic birds, butterflies, and diverse floral arrangements against a pale teal ground, executed in a Rococo-revival aesthetic. The vessel’s interior features sparse floral sprigs and is finished with a scalloped metal rim. The patinated bronzed metal base is intricately cast with three seated putti emerging from scrolling foliage and shell motifs, supporting the vessel. No discernible text or markings are visible.
Condition report:
Generally good condition. The metal exhibits a natural patina commensurate with age. Minor discoloration is visible on the ceramic interior.
