Description
An English Queen Anne style lowboy, constructed from a reddish-brown hardwood with burl walnut banded veneer fronts. The piece features a rectangular top with a carved rope-twist molding border, two over two drawers, and brass bail pulls. It is raised on cabriole legs adorned with carved acanthus-like motifs on the knees, terminating in carved claw-and-ball feet. A complementary rope-twist molding borders the lower apron. No manufacturer’s marks or other inscriptions are visible.
Condition report:
The item exhibits a consistent aged patina with general surface wear, including scratches and scuffs on the top and minor nicks to carved details, commensurate with its apparent age and use.
