Description
A complete sheet of 100 postage stamps from the Royal Mail 1999 Millennium series, specifically ‚The Entertainers‘ Tale‘ issue. Each stamp bears a 19p denomination and features a photographic design in yellow and sepia tones depicting Freddie Mercury, accompanied by a gold-foil Machin head silhouette of Queen Elizabeth II. The stamps are produced via photogravure and are perforated. The sheet is arranged in two vertical panes of 50 stamps each.
The left vertical margin contains the printer’s credit for Joh. Enschede, along with the serial numbers 214 and 0292420, and the printing date 08/03/99. Marginal inscriptions at the top and bottom indicate a TOTAL SHEET value of £19.00 and the official SALE DATE of 01-06-99. The right-hand margin displays five colour registration dots. The sheet is mounted on a blue background and presented in a gold-toned frame.
