Two Decorative Metal Tea Tins and Contents
Description
This lot features two small decorative tins intended for tea storage. The first is a rectangular light blue tin with a hinged lid, featuring floral decoration and ornate scrollwork in a Victorian revival style. The lid and sides are printed with the text TRADITIONAL ENGLISH TEA and 40 FINE ENGLISH BREAKFAST TEABAGS. The interior of the tin and the underside of the lid have a polished gold-toned finish, with the lid bearing an embossed mirror image of the exterior branding. The tin contains approximately fifteen rectangular tagless tea bags.
The second item is a small, round two-piece metal tin with a red base. The white lid features a multi-colour illustration of a hedgehog character. The rim of the lid is printed with the name MRS. TIGGY-WINKLE, referencing the character from Beatrix Potter’s children’s literature. A small line of illegible manufacturer text is printed along the bottom edge of the lid’s rim.
