Description
An early 20th century illustrative equestrian print, titled ‘Brown Jack Returns From Exercise On The Downs’. This monochrome print or drawing, likely a lithograph or etching, depicts a rural landscape. The central image features a man leading a horse along a winding road, with trees, fields, and distant buildings forming the background. The artwork is presented within a wide, cream-colored mat. Below the image, centered on the mat, is printed text that reads: «BROWN JACK RETURNS FROM EXERCISE ON THE DOWNS.» A similar handwritten inscription is also visible in the lower-left margin. A faint, possibly illegible signature or initials can be observed in the lower-right corner of the image. The piece is housed under glass in a substantial, gold-toned wooden frame featuring a ribbed outer profile.
