Description
A framed architectural elevation print or engraving on paper, depicting the principal front of a neoclassical-style stately home. The design features a central block with a prominent portico and two symmetrical flanking wings. The visible inscription at the top reads: «Elevation of the Principal Front of a New Design for Luton Park in Bedfordshire. One of the Seats of the Right Honble The Earl of Bute.» Below left, «W. Adam Inv. et Delin.» (W. Adam Invented and Delineated) is visible. The piece is presented under glass within an ornate gilt-wood frame and matting. An auction sticker, «ProAuction LOT 317», is attached to the bottom right corner of the matting.
Condition report:
Good condition. Minor age-related toning to paper consistent with its likely period. The frame and matting are in good order with minor wear consistent with age.
