Description
A framed architectural elevation print or engraving on paper, depicting the principal front of a neoclassical-style stately home. The design features a central block with a prominent portico and two symmetrical flanking wings. The visible inscription at the top reads: « Elevation of the Principal Front of a New Design for Luton Park in Bedfordshire. One of the Seats of the Right Honble The Earl of Bute. » Below left, « W. Adam Inv. et Delin. » (W. Adam Invented and Delineated) is visible. The piece is presented under glass within an ornate gilt-wood frame and matting. An auction sticker, « ProAuction LOT 317 », is attached to the bottom right corner of the matting.
Condition report:
Good condition. Minor age-related toning to paper consistent with its likely period. The frame and matting are in good order with minor wear consistent with age.
