A World War I Victory Medal, circular and gold-toned, suspended from a vertically striped rainbow-colored grosgrain ribbon. The obverse features a relief of a winged female figure, identified as Victory, holding a palm branch and a sword. The reverse is inscribed «THE GREAT WAR FOR CIVILISATION 1914-1919,» encircled by a laurel wreath. The edge of the medal is engraved with «7864 . SJT . W . WILLIAMS . GLOUC . R., » identifying the recipient as 7864 Sergeant W. Williams of the Gloucestershire Regiment.
