Lot 457:
A Collection of Decorative Ceramic and Bisque Porcelain Figurines and Miniature Souvenirs
Description
A collection of decorative figurines and miniature items featuring various subjects and finishes. The group includes a hunter figure in a wide-brimmed hat, grey jacket, and blue trousers, holding a shotgun across his waist with a spaniel dog at his side. Also included are two bisque porcelain figures of elderly men, one cradling a white goose and another in a yellow coat and green trousers holding a staff. An orientalist figure is depicted in a white glazed robe decorated with blue floral sprigs and a blue-and-white pointed hat. Further items include a cherub candleholder leaning against a fluted column topped with a floral ring and yellow well, and a glazed porcelain figure of a child in overalls sitting on a rustic wooden fence with a white bird perched on their shoulder. Completing the collection is a miniature stone-effect fireplace souvenir with a working round dial thermometer inset into the chimney breast; the right side of the base bears a painted inscription reading Minehead. No maker marks are legible on the figurines.
