Description
A Noritake (Nippon) Rococo Revival porcelain double-handled urn-form vase, early 20th century. The vase features a predominant palette of deep green, white, and extensive gold gilding. The main body showcases a central cartouche with a finely hand-painted landscape scene depicting trees by a body of water under a soft, multi-hued sky, framed by intricate gold scrolling and delicate white « pearl » dot accents, further embellished with small pink enamel dots. The neck is adorned with vertical green and white stripes, also accented with gold. The ornate, scrolling handles and the four-footed pedestal base are heavily gilded. The base bears a clear blue Noritake script mark, accompanied by « MADE IN JAPAN » encircling a stylized floral emblem.
