Lot 1035:
Description
A Noritake (Nippon) Rococo Revival porcelain double-handled urn-form vase, early 20th century. The vase features a predominant palette of deep green, white, and extensive gold gilding. The main body showcases a central cartouche with a finely hand-painted landscape scene depicting trees by a body of water under a soft, multi-hued sky, framed by intricate gold scrolling and delicate white “pearl” dot accents, further embellished with small pink enamel dots. The neck is adorned with vertical green and white stripes, also accented with gold. The ornate, scrolling handles and the four-footed pedestal base are heavily gilded. The base bears a clear blue Noritake script mark, accompanied by “MADE IN JAPAN” encircling a stylized floral emblem.
