Description

This lot comprises two framed prints, each presented under glass with a white mat within a gilt wooden frame. The first print features a classical urn with blue, white, and gold detailing, identified by visible text as a « Vase Etrusque » (Etruscan Vase) from « Antiquités Étrusques, Grecques et Romaines » (Etruscan, Greek, and Roman Antiquities) from Monsieur W. Hamilton’s collection, engraved by François Moret. The second depicts a detailed natural history illustration of an owl, labeled « Hibou » (Owl), with accompanying text describing its head as composed of small feather pieces, taken from an « Histoire Naturelle des Oiseaux » (Natural History of Birds). Both prints exhibit a style reminiscent of 18th-century antiquarian and natural history publications.
