Description

This lot comprises two framed prints, each presented under glass with a white mat within a gilt wooden frame. The first print features a classical urn with blue, white, and gold detailing, identified by visible text as a “Vase Etrusque” (Etruscan Vase) from “Antiquités Étrusques, Grecques et Romaines” (Etruscan, Greek, and Roman Antiquities) from Monsieur W. Hamilton’s collection, engraved by François Moret. The second depicts a detailed natural history illustration of an owl, labeled “Hibou” (Owl), with accompanying text describing its head as composed of small feather pieces, taken from an “Histoire Naturelle des Oiseaux” (Natural History of Birds). Both prints exhibit a style reminiscent of 18th-century antiquarian and natural history publications.
