Description
A framed decorative print illustrating a historical pendant or badge. The artwork depicts a central circular medallion with a teal and white quatrefoil motif, encircled by a wreath of stylized blue flowers and gold-toned leaves. Visible text beneath the image identifies the depicted object as « Stannard Pennant » and describes it as « A Spanish lozenge-shaped pendant set with three pearls and enamelled with the cross of St. Denys on a green enamelled ground. (16th century) Presented by Sir John Howard (and possibly) Queen, 1481. Now with English Monarchy or Heralds Office, Blackheath. » The print is presented under glass in an ornate, gilded wooden frame.
