Description
A framed decorative print illustrating a historical pendant or badge. The artwork depicts a central circular medallion with a teal and white quatrefoil motif, encircled by a wreath of stylized blue flowers and gold-toned leaves. Visible text beneath the image identifies the depicted object as “Stannard Pennant” and describes it as “A Spanish lozenge-shaped pendant set with three pearls and enamelled with the cross of St. Denys on a green enamelled ground. (16th century) Presented by Sir John Howard (and possibly) Queen, 1481. Now with English Monarchy or Heralds Office, Blackheath.” The print is presented under glass in an ornate, gilded wooden frame.
