Description
An impressive oval wall mirror, featuring a multi-layered frame in a classical revival style. The substantial frame consists of an outer dark-finished band, possibly patinated wood or bronze, detailed with reeding and beading. This transitions to a broad, smooth gilded section, followed by a smaller, intricately molded gilded border displaying a repeating classical motif. The central silvered glass mirror plate appears clear.
Condition report:
Good overall condition, exhibiting typical wear, patination, and minor gesso or surface losses commensurate with age. No visible markings were observed.
