Luton Hoo - Bedrooms
Lot 256:
Description
A pair of Revival style window treatments, dating to the late 19th or early 20th century. Each lot comprises heavy drapery panels, an ornate swagged and jaboted valance, and decorative braided cord tie-backs with large tassels. The textiles are constructed from a substantial, patterned fabric, likely a damask or jacquard weave, presented in a muted rose or champagne tone, possibly silk or a silk blend. They feature coordinating plain linings and extensive tassel fringe. The overall style is opulent and traditional, reflecting Baroque or Neoclassical revival designs. No visible text or markings are apparent.
Condition report:
Generally good. The window treatments present as complete and largely intact. Minor signs of wear are visible, including creasing, light dust accumulation, and potential subtle fading consistent with age and prolonged installation. No significant tears or losses observed.
