Description
An Edwardian Revival inlaid satinwood kidney shaped desk, constructed from a figured satinwood veneer, featuring an inset dark green leather top with a gold-tooled border. The desk is supported by four tapering legs and has a curved front, comprising a central recessed kneehole flanked by a deeper drawer on the left and a stack of three smaller drawers on the right, all fitted with decorative metal ring pull handles. A small white tag with the handwritten number « 557 » is visible attached to the upper left drawer pull.
Condition report:
Good overall condition, commensurate with age and use. Minor surface scratches and abrasions to the veneer. The leather top shows significant scuffing, discoloration, and fading, particularly to the gold tooling. Ring pull handles appear original, with some tarnishing.
