This lot comprises forty individually plastic-wrapped blocks or sheets of British commemorative stamps, issued in 1979 for « The Year of the Child. » The collection includes ten blocks of each of the four distinct designs: « The Tale of Peter Rabbit » (9p), « The Wind in the Willows » (10½p), « Winnie the Pooh » (11p), and « Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland » (13p). Each stamp design features a silhouette of Queen Elizabeth II in the upper left corner and is uniformly inscribed with « The Year of the Child » at the bottom.
