Description
An assortment of vintage lithographed tinplate advertising containers for various British confectionery, biscuit, and cereal brands. The collection features two Huntley & Palmers Family Circle biscuit tins of differing sizes, one marked 3lb 5oz (1.5kg) and the smaller marked 1.2kg (2.65lb). Other biscuit containers include a CWS Christmas Assorted Biscuits tin decorated with festive vignettes and a Crawford’s Rover Assorted Biscuits tin. The collection also contains a Sanitarium Weet-Bix cereal tin featuring Cricket Australia branding and images of cricketers. Confectionery items include two Mackintosh’s Quality Street tins in octagonal and circular forms, a blue circular Cadbury’s Roses Chocolates tin with a rose motif, two small rectangular Whitakers tins for Mint Crèmes and Milk Chocolate Fruit & Nuts, and a small red Huntley Toffee tin. The items are constructed from lithographed tinplate and feature both imperial and metric measurements, characteristic of the late 20th-century transition period in the United Kingdom.
