A Collection of Oxford Die-Cast Vintage Style Commercial Vehicles
Description
A collection of vintage-style commercial and service vehicles constructed from die-cast metal with plastic components. Each vehicle is presented in its original retail window box.
The collection includes a brown delivery van featuring a printed inscription on the side panel: ‘at the going down of the sun and in the morning we will remember them.’ It is housed in a blue and white carded box with a clear plastic window. The packaging features a printed logo reading ‘OXFORD DIE-CAST’ surrounding a character in a red coat and black hat with a Union Jack emblem, and an adhesive label reading ‘Die-cast Metal Replica’.
A white and blue milk delivery truck is included, with side decoration featuring ‘milk’ in script and ‘FRESH MILK delivered to your doorstep’. The vehicle carries six silver-toned plastic milk churns. The packaging is a blue and white carded box reading ‘OXFORD DIE-CAST’ and ‘Die-cast Metal Replica’.
Also present is a light blue and red delivery van bearing a logo for ‘LEGION’ and a red poppy emblem on the side panel, housed in a standard ‘OXFORD DIE-CAST’ blue and white carded box.
A black delivery van with a red roof features a crown emblem and the printed text ‘LEST WE FORGET’ on the side panel. This item is contained within a blue and white carded ‘OXFORD DIE-CAST’ window box.
The collection is completed by a dark maroon omnibus. The side of the vehicle features the word ‘GENERAL’ and a commemorative inscription reading ‘REMEMBRANCE DAY NOVEMBER 11th 2000’. This vehicle is housed in a cream and maroon rectangular window box with printed text reading ‘OXFORD DIE-CAST’.
