Lot 404:
A Trio of Beswick Ceramic Bird Figurines
Description
An English assortment of three polychrome glazed ceramic bird figurines. The group includes two matching cock pheasants, each realistically modelled in a standing position on a textured green mound. The pheasants are decorated in orange, yellow, and brown tones with iridescent green heads and red wattles. The underside of each pheasant bears a green and gold oval adhesive foil label reading BESWICK ENGLAND in capital letters, and the word ENGLAND is impressed into the ceramic base. The third figurine depicts a blue tit perched upon a textured brown branch, finished with blue, yellow, and white glazes. The base of the blue tit features a black printed mark reading BESWICK MADE IN ENGLAND 992 BLUE TIT. A small hand-painted black mark resembling a script f or H is also visible on the underside, alongside faint impressed marks including BESWICK ENGLAND.
