Description
Two Spanish glazed porcelain figurines. One depicts a boy, known as Pablito or Boy from Madrid, wearing pale blue overalls over a white long-sleeved shirt and a white cap with a red band. The figure stands on a circular integral base and is modelled with his hands positioned at his chest. The second figurine depicts a girl with long hair, wearing a full-length white nightgown, posed with both hands resting on her hips. Both pieces exhibit a high-gloss finish and the characteristic muted pastel colour palette of the manufacturer.
The underside of the boy figurine features a blue printed mark comprising a crown above a bellflower logo, the name LLADRO featuring a grave accent on the O, HAND MADE IN SPAIN, and the copyright mark © DAISA. The base is further incised with the number 4898, a large letter S, and two vertical strokes.
