Description
An oil on canvas portrait by Sir Oswald Birley MC, RA, depicting Lady Butter and Lady Kennard, née Wernher, from The Wernher Collection. The painting features two female figures against a landscape background. One woman, in a white blouse, leans with crossed hands on a stone parapet, while the other, dressed in a red gown with a light shawl, stands behind her with an arm gently resting on her shoulder. The artwork is presented in an ornate, possibly giltwood, frame, with a brass plaque identifying the artist and sitters.
