Description

A collection of Greek decorative ceramic vessels featuring Neoclassical motifs, including several pieces attributed to Neofitou Keramik. The group is primarily composed of black-glazed earthenware with 24 karat gold-tone transfer and hand-painted decorations. Notable forms include a triple-bulb vase joined by a central handle, decorated with scenes of the mythological figure Dionysos and Greek inscriptions. Also included is a baluster-form vase depicting figures in classical attire with a lyre player, framed by Greek key and palmette borders. The collection further contains several miniature items: a black-glazed bottle with a gold-tone stopper and floral patterns, a small covered circular pot with a landscape scene on the lid, and a small white vessel bearing the inscription PAROS. Additionally, the group includes three cobalt blue glazed miniature vessels, consisting of two handled ewers and one flared vase. These items are handcrafted and feature traditional Greek ornamental patterns including meander and floral sprays.

Condition report:

The collection exhibits a significant accumulation of surface dust and environmental grime across all pieces. There is minor shelf wear to the undersides and light thinning to the gold-tone gilding on high-contact areas, consistent with age. No chips, cracks, or previous restorations are visible upon inspection. The stopper for the miniature bottle remains present.
