Description
A framed 18th-century engraved map depicting the « BIRMAN EMPIRE » and surrounding areas including the « BAY OF BENGAL, » « MOUTHS OF THE GANGES, » and « GULF OF MARTABAN. » Executed in a monochromatic style with a sepia tone, the map details topography, place names, and latitude/longitude coordinates. It is presented under glass, within a wide off-white mat, and enclosed by a decorative gilded wooden frame. The visible text is predominantly in English, with « BIRMAN EMPIRE » being a prominent title, historically referring to Burma or Myanmar.
