Description
A British First World War 1914-15 Star medal, awarded to SJT W H Williams of the Gloucester Regiment. The medal is crafted from a gold-colored base metal, likely bronze or brass, and features a four-pointed star design. It is overlaid with crossed swords and surmounted by a crown, with a central roundel displaying a banner embossed with « 1914-15 » and a small « V » at its base, encircled by a laurel wreath. The reverse is engraved with the service number « 7864 », « SJT W H WILLIAMS », and « GLOUC. R. ». It is suspended from its original vertically striped red, white, and blue grosgrain ribbon.
